Sun Health’s Memory Care Navigator, Marty Finley, recognized with a Community Impact Award

Post date: 11/8/2021

Recently, Sun Health’s Memory Care Navigator Marty Finley received a “Community Impact Award” from Meals of Joy, a local nonprofit organization that provides home-delivered meals to seniors at a low or no-cost.

The award was given out at their “Heroes Among Us Gala.” It was the first year Meals of Joy has honored local community first responders as founder Larry Cervarich felt it was important to recognize those that did so much to support our community and especially seniors in our area during the last year. Each month nearly 700 meals were being served to seniors from Goodyear to Peoria, Avondale to Buckeye and beyond.

Marty was among local fire, police and health care workers who were honored at the event. Honorees included law enforcement officers with Avondale Police and the Maricopa County Sheriff Office, as well as nurses from Abrazo Health.

Sun Health’s Memory Care Navigator Program is offered at no charge thanks to the generous funding of Sun Health Foundation and provides personal and professional guidance for patients, family members and caregivers coping with the emotional, psychological, and physical effects of dementia. Marty, who is the heart and soul of the program constantly receives notes of gratitude and commendation for the work she does.

Congratulations Marty and thank you for all your do for our communities on behalf of Sun Health!
