Sun Health is dedicated to helping you live a longer, healthier, more purposeful life. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to change, Sun Health is closely monitoring all concerns regarding the safety of our residents, members, staff, donors, volunteers, clients and all those we serve in the community. With the introduction of the COVID-19 Delta variant, we are maintaining safety measures to reduce the spread of the virus. Please explore this page as we have updated some of our requirements. We know that the restrictions placed upon all of us due to COVID-19 precautions are disruptive to our normal lives, yet your health and safety is our utmost priority.
In order to ensure the health and wellbeing of all those we serve; effective October 1, 2021, Sun Health established a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all team members. We require all team members be vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of employment. This means staff must have received either a first dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or qualify for an approved medical or religious exemption (employees receiving the two-dose vaccines must have been fully vaccinated by November 1st 2021).
As of the October 1 deadline, 100% of our team members are in compliance with the mandate. All future team members will be required to comply as a condition of hire.
We are proud of the fact that Sun Health was ahead of the curve with our mandate, knowing it is the right thing to do for our residents, our families, neighbors, and each other.
General Information on COVID-19
What Happens if You Have a COVID-19 Exposure?
New CDC guidelines indicate that fully vaccinated people who have come into close contact with someone with COVID-19 should be tested three to five days following the date of their exposure and wear a mask in public indoor settings for 14 days or until they receive a negative test result. Should you test positive, you should isolate for 10 days. For more information please visit: cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated-guidance.html
The state of Arizona is currently seeing a rapid rise in COVID-19 cases affecting both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Sun Health continues to offer many of our classes in a hybrid format to allow for both in person or virtual attendance. We offer small group sessions (15 or fewer) for physical fitness classes as well as the Diabetes Prevention Program and the Diabetes Self-Management Education series held in person at The Sun Health Center for Health & Wellbeing. The Center is limiting in-person classes to 15 people and conducting brief health screenings and temperature checks upon arrival. Face masks and social distancing are required for everyone’s health and safety. Thank you.
